UNREAL Candy You Can Feel Good About

 If you are a frequent shopper at Walgreens or CVS then you have probably noticed something called, "UNREAL" candy.  Have you taken the time to check it out? Do you know what they mean by, "candy unjunked"?  Curiosity got the best of me one day and I decided to check it out.  On the wrapper, this candy proclaims that is has No Artificial Flavors, No Artificial Colors, No Corn Syrup, and No Hydrogenated Oils. I wasn’t sure what to expect, and because of the vibrant colors of the candy I expected it to be fruity candy, but after taking a closer look I realized these are all chocolates. Being the chocolate fanatic that I am, I was SOLD! For our taste test we chose three different types of candy; UNREAL 41- Candy Coated Chocolates, UNREAL 77- Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, and UNREAL 8 - Chocolate Caramel Peanut Nougat candy bar. These new candies also come in a chocolate-caramel candy bar and a candy-coated chocolate peanut candy, but these two flavors were currently sold out.

UNREAL Candy

Bursting with excitement, we couldn’t wait to tear into this candy.  Patiently my boys waited until I had divided the candy equally between the three of us.  The first candy we tried was UNREAL 41, Candy-Coated Chocolates.  The candy came in odd colors; lime green, purple, and a yellowish-orange, but knowing that the candy was colored naturally with plant extracts and was not loaded with artificial colors made the vibrant colors that much better.  When we actually tasted the chocolate, we were delighted with its rich chocolate flavor, which I found comparable to dark chocolate.  The coating, although flavorless, had a unique texture that was not bad, but it was a little waxier than similar candies.  The second candy we tried was UNREAL 77, chocolate peanut butter cups.  These peanut butter cups were slightly darker in color than Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and the texture was not as creamy but the flavor was just as good, especially considering UNREAL peanut butter cups are made with real peanuts and cocoa instead of artificial sweeteners and hydrogenated oils.  Lastly, we tried UNREAL 8,  a chocolate caramel-peanuts nougat candy bar.  This candy bar was also a big hit, with its chewy texture and loaded with rich chocolate flavor even my picky one couldn’t get enough. In fact, he declared the candy bar to be his favorite of the three even though it was loaded with peanuts.UNJUNKED

The candy can be found at your local drug store like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid or at other large chains such as Bj’s, Krogers, and Staples.  The price is comparable to other candies, but you are getting so much more for your money because these snacks are loaded with protein, and fiber and contain less sugar, fewer calories and fewer carbs than similar candies. Take the UNREAL Challenge and try one of these unjunked candies today, treat yourself to a candy that is full of goodness and low on junk.

My Precious Kid Child Locator

  Child Locator Alert I've told you my youngest is a Houdini. He has no concept of boundaries, and, more than once, has disappeared sending me into a terror-stricken panic. He thinks it to be a game and his hiding is about the only time he is silent. In April, we were sent a My Precious Kid Child Locator Alert. This adorable Teddy Bear works as a receiver. The Teddy Bear attaches to a shoe, or can be worn as a bracelet. The parent has a transmitter that chirps if your child is beyond the Teddy Bears range of 20-30 feet. It arrived at the perfect time.
